Setting up the Basic tier
Basic is the first .exe tier — the latency and FPS core on top of the four Free tweaks. You get a real app window with an icon sidebar, a checklist of tweaks, and an Apply button that does not touch anything until you press it.

What this tier adds over the one below it.
- Safe
Ultimate Performance plan + disable ALL power saving
Activates Ultimate Performance, then forces processor 100% min/max, aggressive boost, no core parking, PCIe ASPM off, and no disk/sleep/USB power-down. Reverts cleanly to your current plan.
- Safe
MMCSS 'Games' task profile
Raises the games multimedia scheduling class. Low risk; modest real benefit.
- Safe
System responsiveness, foreground priority, visuals, mouse
SystemResponsiveness=10 (under 10 clamps to 20), foreground-favoring priority, best-performance visuals, mouse acceleration OFF.
- Safe
NIC power-saving OFF (EEE/Green/Flow), RSS on, RSC off
Stops the network card idling-down (jitter), disables Energy-Efficient/Green Ethernet + Flow Control (only if the driver exposes them), and trims receive-coalescing latency.
- Safe
No P2P update sharing + faster NTFS access
Delivery Optimization set to no peer sharing, and disables NTFS last-access timestamp writes.
- Safe
Ensure SSD TRIM is enabled
Verifies/enables NTFS TRIM so the SSD stays fast. Leaves Windows' beneficial SSD ReTrim schedule alone (disabling that is a myth).
- Safe
Fortnite tuning (auto-detected)
Sets Fortnite process priority to High (pre-staged even if not installed). If config is found: backs it up, writes competitive low-latency settings, locks it read-only.
- Safe
Stop Epic Games Launcher auto-start
Removes the Epic launcher from startup so it isn't idling in the background. Only acts if present.
Self-contained
FrameForge-Basic.exe is a single 108 KB executable. No installer, no .NET, no background service — it runs, applies what you tick, and closes. Works on Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.
What Basic is for
The wins you can feel: Ultimate Performance with no core parking, MMCSS Games scheduling, foreground priority, mouse acceleration off, the NIC jitter killers, and an auto Fortnite competitive config. Nothing experimental — every tweak here is on by default and reversible.
Step by step
You will see a SmartScreen prompt and a UAC prompt — both expected for an unsigned tool that edits system settings. Everything before Apply is just looking around; nothing changes until you click it.
- 01
Download the app
GetFrameForge-Basic.exefrom the download page. It is one file — keep it wherever you like (Desktop is convenient). If your browser warns on the download, click the ··· beside it and choose Keep. - 02
Open it — clear SmartScreen with Run anyway
Double-click the.exe. Windows may show “Windows protected your PC.” That is SmartScreen reacting to an unsigned file with no download reputation yet — not a virus finding. Click More info, then Run anyway. (Buying a code-signing certificate is what makes this box disappear; the tool deliberately does not, to stay free.) - 03
Approve UAC (Yes)
It self-elevates via UAC, so you get the dimmed “allow this app to make changes?” prompt. Click Yes. Editing the registry, services and power plan needs administrator rights — there is no way around it for a tool like this. You do not need to right-click → Run as administrator first; it handles that itself. - 04
Meet the app — the icon sidebar
The window opens on a dark HUD with an icon sidebar: Tweaks, Diagnostics, and BIULDS. You start on Tweaks — that is the full list for your tier. - 05
Review the tweak list
Tweaks are grouped by category (Power & CPU, Network, Services, Cleanup, and so on). Anything Safe is on by default and side-effect-free for gaming — leave those ticked. Read each row; untick anything you would rather keep. - 06
It writes a restore point + Revert script first
Before it changes a single setting, FrameForge creates a System Restore point and writes a timestamped backup folder containing aRevert.batnext to the app. That happens automatically — you do not have to ask. It is your one-click way back (see Reverting). - 07
Click Apply and watch the progress
Hit Apply. A progress bar walks through your selected tweaks and logs each one as it lands. It is quick — most changes are registry writes andpowercfg/sccalls. - 08
Reboot if it asks (some tweaks need it)
A few changes only take full effect after a restart. If you enabled any of them, the app tells you a reboot is recommended — restart when convenient. In your tier those are: System responsiveness, foreground priority, visuals, mouse. Everything else is live immediately.
Which tweaks ask for a reboot
One tweak in this tier set a flag that needs a restart to fully apply. None of them break anything before you reboot — they just are not active yet. They are marked in the app, so you are never guessing.
Honest expectations
Basic tunes Windows correctly, but the single biggest free win usually lives in BIOS: enabling your RAM’s rated speed (DOCP / EXPO) and running a fresh GPU driver — things software should not do for you. The Pro tier’s Diagnostics scan tells you whether either applies to your rig.
Want the safe debloat and deep layer next? That is the Extreme tier — same flow, more tweaks.
